Expendables 2 Casting Rumors

Posted 02 Aug 2011 in entertainment, martial arts movies

For those of you looking to keep informed on the details of the ‘Expendables’ sequel scheduled for release Summer of next year, we have some new rumors floating about. It should come as no surprise at all that the rumors focus on the (potential) addition of new cast members, who include Jean-Claude Van Damme, John Travolta, and Chuck Norris. Van Damme should have been a no-brainer for the first ‘Expendables’, as well as Chuck Norris. I don’t know why someone like Randy Couture was given the part over these two classics. There is still one 80′s leftover that I think deserves top casting spot over the like of Jason Statham even… Seriously, Carl Weather’s agent needs to earn his...

Apparently, hip-hop artist/Wu-Tang Clan Member Raekwon has offered up a video list of his top 5 favorite Kung-Fu movies ever. Enjoy. I have to admit, Raekwon has some pretty good taste here. I especially like the addition of ‘The Killer’. It may not be a traditional ‘kung fu’ flick, but it is one of the best bullet ballet movies of all time (aside from Hard Boiled of course) Source: AllHipHop

Ok. So this may not be a straight kung fu movie, but you have to admit: Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes has some pretty stylish martial arts moves. I liked the first movie. It helped me get the taste of Revolver out of my mouth.

Kung Fu Panda Responsible For Rise In Karate Interest, People Saying “Skadoosh”

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, there has been a marked upswing in the martial arts industry and it can all be attributed to certain rotund, animated panda voiced by a certain rotund, animated human. The DreamWorks movie ‘Kung Fu Panda’ did surprisingly well during it’s theater debut back in 2008 and the sequel is so far headed on the same course. This of course means that young kids across the globe are taking a sudden interest in the martial arts and its various forms. This is great news for the martial arts industry and bad news for any kids that think they’re going to learn the Wuxi Finger Hold.
